Massage has been documented as being practiced as far back as around 500 BCE in Mesopotamia.  It has been practiced worldwide to treat a sleu of ailments, including but not limited to, headaches, orthopedic disorders, psycho-emotional disorders, dislocation of a joint, flu, colds, improve flexibility (range of motion), and lower blood pressure along with many more.  As a preventative measure, massage can be used to keep the immune system high by reducing stress and tension which tend to lead to fatigue and illness.
